4Reasonably SatisfiedJul 21, 2010
I like these since they can be used over and over. We find that during the summers that our safe gets really humid and we need to keep four of these in it to keep it dry (the safe is not very big). I wish that these would last longer than a week or two.

5Works greatJul 17, 2010
I bought this for a trip to Costa Rica during the rainy season. I was told to prepare to 90%+ humidity all day and wanted to protect my DSLR from the humidity. We kept all the camera gear in a giant zip lock back with the desiccant pack and had no camera worries the entire trip. Easy to just pop in the oven to dry it back out for re-use.

3Peli Pellets of PleasureJul 15, 2010
These peli gels would seem to do the job. Havent really tested and confirmed, but I had some electronics in my attic and used these gels in a box with a DJ mixer I own. They gels became dried out within a few days. You can tell because the blue gels will turn pink.

Thought they would last a bit longer, but I guess the more humid it is the quicker the gels will die.

The only way to regenerate them is to place them in the oven at 350 for 3 HOURS! Thats almost like baking a thanksgiving turkey! lol

I couldnt imagine doing this every 3 days. Seems very enviromentally unfriendly to turn on your oven just to regenerate them that often. Best bet is to find a less humid spot for your stuff.

Maybe if I could stick them in the oven while I am cooking something it would be fine, but I never even cook anything for that long (3 hours), nor do I trust putting something as poisonous as silica gels in the oven with some chicken. Just doesnt seem all that safe to me.

Im giving this 3 stars based off my situation and how quickly these gels lost their charge.

5Great when used in sealed containerMay 06, 2010
They seem to last a long time when used in a 12"x 6" sealed container. Haven't had to recharge them yet. So far they're easy to use and are very durable.
