Doesn't Deliver As PromisedNov 22, 2008 Aquamira Water Bottle and Filter by McNett
I REALLY wanted a self-filtering water bottle, so bought this one. It looks and sounds nice, but just doesn't work as promised. No matter how long I soak the filter, the water just won't come out without a lot of work. And, if I work too hard, the water leaks out around the top.
I teach, so need to drink a lot of clean water throughout the day, delivered in an unobtrusive manner. This bottle just doesn't cut it and the gyrations I can go through while trying to get even a sip of water can get embarrassing!

Too hard to squeezeJun 18, 2008 The bottle is very hard to squeeze, and if you muster too much strength, the water will escape from under the cap. The info that came with the bottle claimed that the bottle gets easier to squeeze. After one full week in the woods, I give up. I can unpack my filter and pump a gallon of water in the time it takes to drink ten oz. of water from this thing.

Four And A Half StarsOct 25, 2007 As a big fan of the Aqua Mira drops,
I decided to try the company's new
bottle. It's kind of an odd shape, and
the directions were virtually non-existent
(does the filter dry out or degrade if left
for a long time between uses?, etc.)
but, basically it does what you pay for
it to do. I took it on long hikes and,
though you've got to work a bit to
suck out the water, it delivers tasty,
safe water--and, unlike Aqua Mira drops--
it's instant! So your delicious, cold,
Alpine lake water is drinkable while still cold.
Quirky, but useful. 4.5 stars
